Chattanooga FC continued its preseason preparations with a competitive test against One Knoxville SC, squaring off in an interleague friendly that had all the intensity of a regular-season rivalry match.
From the opening whistle, both sides treated the contest as more than just a tune-up. Knoxville’s USL League One squad pressed high and looked sharp in transition, while Chattanooga’s MLS NEXT Pro side focused on building out of the back and controlling possession. The match featured stretches of end-to-end action, with each club creating quality chances and testing the opposing goalkeeper.
After a tightly contested 90 minutes, neither side could find a decisive breakthrough, sending the preseason clash to a penalty shootout. In the shootout, Chattanooga showed composure and confidence from the spot. Their takers converted with precision, and a crucial save from the Chattanooga keeper swung the momentum. When the final Knoxville attempt missed its mark, Chattanooga sealed the victory in penalties.
Though unofficial in the standings, the result provided a valuable confidence boost for Chattanooga as they continue their preseason tour, demonstrating resilience, depth, and poise under pressure heading into the upcoming campaign.
