LAFC Make Statement in Champions Cup Win Over Cruz Azul

LAFC delivered an efficient and disciplined effort against Cruz Azul in the CONCACAF Champions Cup, led by Son Heung-min and two goals from David Martínez.

The game started off at a fast pace, with both teams eager to make an impact from the get-go. LAFC got on the scoreboard in the 30th minute through Son Heung-min, who scored after a clever build-up play to give LAFC an early boost.

In the 39th minute, just prior to halftime, LAFC extended their lead. David Martínez was able to find some space and made no mistake in front of goal to put LAFC ahead 2–0 heading into halftime.

However, Cruz Azul tried to recover and fight back following the half-time break by looking for an avenue to level things up in the game. But LAFC once again showed that they are more potent on the offensive side.

Martínez added another goal to his account in the 58th minute, scoring his brace, thereby ending all hopes for a recovery by Cruz Azul. After that point, LAFC was in control of the game as they kept possession while denying Cruz Azul any opportunity to score.

LAFC successfully defended against the late attempts by Cruz Azul and won a great match in the continental competition while continuing to fight in the Champions Cup.
