Captured Moments: The Game Beyond the Scoreline

LAFC Make Statement in Champions Cup Win Over Cruz Azul

LAFC showed real determination and energy against Cruz Azul in the CONCACAF Champions Cup. Son Heung-min led the attack and Martínez stepped up with two key goals. Right from the start, you could feel both teams fighting to take control. In the 30th minute, LAFC broke through—Son finished off a flowing team move to get them on the scoreboard. Not long after, Martínez found space in the box and made it two, giving LAFC a solid lead before the half.

Cruz Azul tried to turn things around after the break, pushing forward and pressing harder. But LAFC kept their foot on the gas. In the 58th minute, Martínez scored again, stretching the lead to three and, honestly, putting the game out of reach. The rest of the way, LAFC held the ball and played with real composure, keeping Cruz Azul quiet and never letting them get back into the match.

When it was all said and done, LAFC closed it out confidently. Their Champions Cup hopes stay alive and well.
